From the prehistoric caves of Lascaux to the opulence of Versailles, this survey of French history spans across several thousand years. Take part in the interpretation of various written texts and works of art pertaining to French history. Includes an examination of the significant political, social events, and institutions that have affected French history.

Instructor:  A world language educator for more than seventeen years, Dr. Lois Jarman was a English, French, Spanish, and Latin instructor on both the secondary and post-secondary levels. She received her doctoral degree in second language acquisition and currently serves as the Director of the Intensive English Language Program at Shepherd University. Lois has been a Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary member and volunteer for nearly twenty years, is a mentor with Woman to Woman Mentoring, and serves as a member of the Frederick County Commission for Women. She has been a resident of Frederick County more than thirty years.
