In many ways, Russia is unique in both geography and history. A study in contrasts, the story of Russia’s people is one of the great achievements set against unbearable tragedies. This “Big Picture” survey of Russia’s long history brings to light the patterns, trends, and key events that have brought us to the Russia of today and the world view of its people.

Instructor: Ernest O’Roark was a writer and team member for the World History for Us All curriculum project, working with David Christian author of Maps of Time and This Fleeting World as well as a number of other leading scholars in the field of World History. Ernie taught middle school in Montgomery County for 32 years.
