NEW! Pre-Trip Class – Off the Beaten Path: Lincoln’s Cottage
1 session, 2 hours
Maximize your experience at Lincoln’s Cottage by understanding the settings of the Cottage and nearby National Military Cemetery. Discover why these locations were so important to Lincoln’s Presidency, learn what to expect on the trip and check out our list of resources to learn more before we go. (Please note, the Day Trip requires separate registration.)
Instructor: Peg Mauzy retired from FCC after 23 years of teaching English and Study Skills courses. She was also the Learning Consultant and the International Education Coordinator for the London Study Abroad Program. Peg loves learning about the United States history, especially Presidential information. This one-day class is being held prior to the Cottage Trip in order to maximize the experience, examine the setting of the Cottage and the nearby National Military Cemetery, identify multiples Lincoln resources from websites to books, and discuss the importance of this Cottage setting on Lincoln’s Presidency. She will then accompany the group on the “Lincoln’s Cottage” (National Trust Historic Site) and National Military Cemetery Trip.
