NEW! The Symphony Orchestra: An Inside Look – FSO Meets the Beatles

New! The Symphony Orchestra: An Inside Look – FSO Meets the Beatles
1 sessions, 2.5 hours

Follow the progress of an orchestral concert from rehearsal to performance. Participants in these unique music sessions will arrive early for a private briefing prior to attending rehearsal. During rehearsal, they will have the opportunity to observe the Frederick Symphony Orchestra up close and from the players’ perspective. The experience will also include presentations by the Assistant Conductor and the orchestra musicians, opportunities for conversation with the musicians, and finally, attendance at the actual concerts. Participants may then choose to attend the concert at a discounted price of $15 per ticket; students of this course only may receive the discount. Gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the process by which great symphonic works are prepared for the stage.

He has also served as conductor and music director for the International Opera Projects in Berlin, Germany, and Maryland’s Hub Opera Ensemble. Andrew is a Professor of Music and chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Mount St. Mary’s University.
