This course will give an overview of Islamic history and the culture of the Islamic world. Topics may include religion, languages, art, music, science, medicine, technology, food, and history and the influence of the spice trade.

Instructor: Erum Marfani is a full-time professor of Mathematics at FCC. She has bachelor degrees in political science and mathematics as well as a Masters in statistics. She has lived in Maryland most of her life and is a proud Frederick resident. She loves to learn about different cultures and is learning her 6th and 7th languages. In her spare time, Erum likes to cook, read, and watch old movies.
