This course will focus on the basic principles of learning, memory and cognition, with a special emphasis on the changes that occur from mid-life through older adulthood. We will also explore specific factors and lifestyle behaviors that could potentially accelerate the aging process, as well as those that may facilitate healthier brain functioning in our later years.
Instructor: Barbara Angleberger has a Master in Counseling Psychology, with 42 years experience in education. She was a counselor with FCPS and served as an adjunct faculty member and Foreign Language Coordinator at FCC before transitioning to a full-time psychology position for 27 yrs. During that time, she chaired the Social Sciences Department. The courses she taught include: General Psychology, Abnormal Psych., Social Psych, Human Growth and Development, and Psych of Adolescence.
