By the late 1880’s Samuel P. Langley, the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, and Wilbur and Orville Wright were actively seeking to solve the problems involving man carrying, heavier-than-air flying machines. By 1903 success was in sight. Find out why the Wright brothers won the race.
Instructor: Gerard L. Blake was the Program Manager/ Associate Professor in the Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program at Frederick Community College from June 1974 until retirement in 1998. His other lives include experience as a Commercial Pilot, Flight Engineer, and Aircraft Mechanic.
