NEW! Frederick County and the Civil War Tour
1 session, 7 hours
You won’t want to miss the opportunity to take a full-day history field trip through some of the area’s prime sites for American Civil War exploration. Award-winning researcher/documentarian Chris Haugh will guide you through Frederick County, the center of Maryland’s Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area. Along the way, he will provide unique insight on battle and civilian experiences in both well-known and obscure sites. This Learning on Location experience will explore the direct relationship the Civil War had on not only the local landscape, but on the local citizenry. Chris will intersperse the tour with scenes from his Emmy® award-winning film Maryland’s Heart of the Civil War (produced in conjunction with the Tourism Council of Frederick County and Maryland Public Television). A boxed lunch is included. Wear your walking shoes for some easy to manage mini-hikes off the bus.
***Please note that there is a 4 business day refund policy for this bus tour.
