1 session, 5 hours

You won’t want to miss the opportunity to take a full-day look at the life, times and achievements of Frederick’s most famous former resident, Francis Scott Key. The author of our Star-Spangled Banner is one of the least recognized, and known, celebrities in the universe. What were his ties to Frederick, and how did he become famous? What were his strengths and weaknesses? Award-winning researcher/documentarian Chris Haugh will guide you through Francis Scott Key’s Frederick with a walking tour of significant sights, interspersed with lecture opportunities.

Notes: No refunds after close of business 5/4. Be sure to bring your comfortable shoes for some moderate walking. A boxed lunch will be included.

Instructor: Chris Haugh is an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker and regional historian. For nearly 25 years, Chris has researched, produced and published numerous award-winning presentations on Frederick County history. He has also taught both video production and public history courses for FCC, Hood College and Towson University.
