NEW! Canalling through History on the C&O Bus Tour
1 session, 8 hours
You took the course, now take the tour! In the early days of America, the C&O Canal was a vital lifeline for communities along the Potomac River. Today it’s an excellent example of early American transportation. The experience begins at the C&O Canal Visitor’s Center at Great Falls. There you will enjoy a canal boat ride, see the falls and learn how the canal operates. Then head to Lockhouse 25 for a tour; it’s been restored to a Civil War Era look. We’ll finish the day at the Monocacy aqueduct to learn how it functions. A boxed lunch is included in the tour cost.
***Please note that there is a 4 business day refund policy for this bus tour.
Instructor: Jim Rada has written many works of historical fiction and non-fiction history, including three novels about the C&O Canal.
