Nature Walks 101-Flora and Fauna

Nature Walks 101-Flora and Fauna
4 sessions • 8 hours

Immerse yourself into the beauty of both flora and fauna during this eye-opening field-based experience. Join us and learn how to identify common plants and flowers on sight based on physical characteristics while also identifying local birds by appearance and song. Discussions also include the complex and important relationships between plants, animals, and our environment. During class, we will take nature walks around campus and twice, we will meet off campus at Monocacy Battlefield to enjoy some of the trails located within the park.

Please be sure to wear proper shoes and dress for the weather. All walks are considered easy and gentle. You will need to provide your own transportation to and from the Monocacy Battlefield walking sites.

Instructor: Bethany Dellagnello holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology and has been a Frederick County Public School science teacher for 23 years. Teaching life and physical sciences in both middle and high school, she has been certified as a Master Gardener and also has a small business, creating and selling customized one-of-a-kind jewelry.
