Improve Your Gait with the Feldenkrais Method® – New!
8 sessions • 12 hours
We should be taking 10,000 steps a day. But if your gait is off, each of these steps has the potential to wear down your joints and increase your risk of falling. Find out how to improve your walking/running techniques from a developmental perspective: rolling, rocking, creeping, and crawling. Learn to refine balance while “walking” laying on a mat and sitting in a chair. Your proprioceptive and kinesthetic senses can improve with heightened awareness of your feet and ankles, the carriage of your head, and your eye movements. A special, inexpensive mat (but not a yoga mat) that allows for sliding is needed to participate. If you need to acquire one of these mats, they are available for purchase in the FCC bookstore.
