He has also written a number of articles about the history of and events on the canal. Jim is a full-time freelance writer who has received numerous awards from the MarylandDelaware-DC Press Association, Associated Press, Maryland State Teachers Association, Society of Professional Journalists, and Community Newspapers Holdings, Inc. for newspaper writing.
