Explore the Renaissance with discussions focusing on collections of visual artwork and photographs. Learn terminology and come to understand the meaning of this artistic era by viewing paintings, religious icons, mosaics, and frescoes from Europe including influences from Greece and Rome. Master artists such as Raphael, da Vinci, Michelangelo, Veronese, and van Eyck will be featured in our discussions. Please note, this is an informative art appreciation experience; individual art projects will not be completed.
Instructor: With a master’s Degree in Art Education from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Jeanne McDermott has more than 7 years of experience as a floral designer for Radebaughs in Towson, Md and was as a teacher with the Frederick County Public School system for more than 10 years.
