Art Appreciation: Romanticism – New!

Art Appreciation: Romanticism
2 sessions • 4 hours

Explore Romanticism through pictures and discussion. This late 18th century European movement expressed dramatic emotions and individualism in art. This included an emphasis on nature, the aesthetic experience and an escape from the industrialization of society by capturing landscapes, gothic architecture, and freedom of imagination. Some artists who will inspire us include the American artists Thomas Cole and Albert Bierstadt, as well as European Eugene Delacroix and J.M.W. Turner. Please note  that individual art projects will not be completed.
