Practice skills developed in American Sign Language I while acquiring new conversational abilities. Learn more about ASL grammar structure, visual gestural, descriptive, negotiation with the environment, and gain a deeper understanding of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing culture.

Please Note: The textbook utilized in this class, A Basic Course in American Sign Language (ISBN 978-0932666420), is available for purchase in the FCC bookstore located in the Student Center. This textbook is also utilized in the previous level class, American Sign Language I – Beginner.

Instructor: Martha B. Pugh holds a master’s degree in Secondary Deaf Education from Gallaudet University and a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Boston University. She has over 20 years of experience in teaching Introductory ASL classes.
